The Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) of Kenya has accredited ICDL Africa as a Foreign Examination Body and approved the ICDL programme as a certificate-level qualification within Kenya’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system. This recognition reinforces ICDL’s position as an internationally recognised benchmark for digital skills development in Kenya.
The accreditation enables TVET institutions across Kenya to offer ICDL certifications through both public and privately sponsored programmes. As a result, students and trainees can acquire practical digital competencies that are recognised internationally and aligned with the needs of today’s technology-driven workplace.
The partnership between ICDL Africa, TVETA, and the Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions (KATTI) has further strengthened advocacy for digital skills development throughout Kenya’s vocational and technical education sector. This collaboration supports national efforts to equip learners with the competencies required to participate effectively in the digital economy.
Today, ICDL’s presence in Kenya is supported by a network of more than 80 Accredited Test Centres, serving learners across a wide range of sectors, including schools, technical training institutions, universities, government agencies, NGOs, and commercial training organisations. This extensive network provides access to internationally recognised digital skills certification for students, educators, professionals, and job seekers throughout the country.
