The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) is a pan-African network of centres of excellence for post-graduate training, research and public engagement in mathematical sciences.
AIMS vision is to lead the transformation of Africa through innovative scientific training, technical advances and breakthrough discoveries which benefit the whole of society.
ICDL Africa Signed an MoU with AIMS to be the digital skills provider for an AIMS Project named ‘Teacher Training Programme’. The MoU will run for 3 years and train more than 4000 Science and Mathematics teachers. This year ICDL Africa together with AIMS trained & certified 49 of the 90 trainers who will be training other Mathematics and Science teachers to build their capacity in using ICT as a tool in their teaching career.
The purpose of this training is to offer knowledge and skills to teachers to be able to conduct smart classroom across the country. During the MoU signing Thierry Zomahoun, President and CEO of AIMS mentioned that AIMS will be starting activities in Ivory Coast and they will consider working with ICDL there as well.
