China Education Development Foundation (CEDF), Dell Technologies, and the National Center for Educational Technology (NCET) jointly launched the “Upskilling Future Workforce for the Digital Economy” 2024 Project. The official launch conference marked the beginning of the fourth year of the project’s implementation in China.
The ICDL Asia Digital Challenge 2024 returns to its 7th iteration, promising to be better than ever before, showcasing future-ready digital skills for students in the Asia Pacific. Starting from this year, ICDL Asia is pleased to announce that the competition is open to the Primary school level on top of Secondary school and Tertiary level. We welcome primary, secondary, and tertiary students in the Asia Pacific who wish to showcase their digital skills and take on the challenges to be part of the ICDL Asia Digital Challenge 2024, fostering a collaborative learning environment and promoting digital skills across various educational levels.
Driven by a passionate voluntary group of individuals and Assamese diaspora associations, Alliance for Community Capacity Building focuses on initiatives uplifting Assam’s youth from diverse backgrounds. The core objective is to equip young minds with the essential skills and knowledge required to thrive in the fast-paced and ever-evolving world through various programmes, providing them with emotional, material, and logistical support.
ICDL Asia recently concluded an impactful e-commerce domain expert-sharing workshop in Singapore and Malaysia. The half-day workshops showcased industry experts and trainers from YiCai Business School formerly from Alibaba’s Taobao University and AWS China, offering an exclusive exploration into the dynamics of China’s expansive USD 2.68 trillion e-commerce market. Focusing on China’s vast e-commerce market, the workshop highlighted the best practices of digital marketing employed by successful e-commerce players across a spectrum of platforms, including Alibaba, Taobao, Tmall, Shein, Little Red Book, Ping Duo Duo (the Chinese origin of TEMU), and TikTok.
Phenikaa University Joins ICDL Vietnam as an Accredited Test Center solidifying its commitment to digital technology education. Under this collaboration, Phenikaa University mandates ICDL certification for students, covering essential modules such as Computer Essentials, Online Essentials, Documents, Presentation, and Spreadsheets. The establishment of an on-campus ICDL test center aims to provide convenient testing facilities to ensure students’ access to internationally recognized certifications seamlessly.
ICDL China has officially signed MoU for a strategic partnership with Huizhou Technician Institute. The collaboration aims to cultivate students’ proficiency in digital skills, setting the stage for mutual collaboration. With both organisations leverage the partnership as a starting point, advancing cooperation through a project-oriented, scalable, and regional approach to collectively shape a new dynamic development landscape.
In response to the demand for digital skills in today’s rapidly evolving landscape, the partnership aims to provide Bumiputera trainers and training providers with access to ICDL modules, thereby augmenting their existing programs and creating new avenues of demand. As part of the initiative’s expansion, selected MBTA members will be designated as ICDL Accredited Test Centers.
The conference showcased the positive impact of project in enhancing the digital skills of vocational college students across multiple provinces. Notable speakers, including representatives from CEDF, Dell Technologies, and educational authorities, emphasised the project’s alignment with national initiatives and its contribution to advancing educational equity with insightful reports, project summaries, and student presentations, culminating in the recognition of outstanding achievements.
Explore the transformative collaboration between ICDL Asia and the National Association of Private Educational Institutions (NAPEI) in Malaysia. This strategic alliance seeks to empower NAPEI members as Accredited Test Centers (ATCs) to implement ICDL programs, fostering a culture of digital proficiency among students and staff.
ICDL China proudly announce its collaboration with AISL Harrow Haikou, designating the school as the first Accredited Test Centre (ATC) for ICDL in Hainan province. As part of this partnership, students in the Upper School and the Sixth Form at Harrow Haikou will embark on their ICDL journey, integrating ICDL certifications into their computing curriculum.
