2 May 2018

ICDL Digital Challenge 2017 won second place and was voted as an outstanding example of best practice under the Marketing category for the Best Practice Awards in Prague last week.

ICDL Foundation, an international organisation dedicated to raising digital competence standards in the workforce, education, and society, established the Best Practise Awards to acknowledge and credit initiatives and projects that are considered as exceptional examples of the implementation of ICDL Foundation programmes, which help to increase levels of digital literacy and promote ICDL in local markets.

The ICDL Digital Challenge 2017 was the first digital skills competition organised to target the higher education and tertiary students. The competition was mainly organised by the Singapore office of ICDL Asia, with participants from six other different territories including Thailand, the Philippines, India, Vietnam, Bhutan, and Taiwan (China). The competition received the participation of 3,695 students and 106 schools.

The competition proves to have many positive feedbacks and desired outcomes, as stated by the participating partners, teachers, and students. Many saw this international competition as a good exposure for students and is a great initiative to promote and motivate students to start learning the ICT skills at an early age.

In total, eight projects were recognised as exceptional examples of the implementation of ICDL Foundation’s programmes at the Annual Best Practice Awards 2018.
