ICDL Africa Certifies Uganda Government Communication Officers

In a significant step toward enhancing digital capabilities in the public sector, nearly thirty communication officers from various Ugandan government ministries were officially certified last week under the International Certificate of Digital Literacy (ICDL) initiative.

The five-day training program, delivered by ICDL Africa, aimed to equip participants with vital digital communication skills. Officers represented major institutions including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, Ministry of Defence, and Ministry of Works and Transport.

This capacity-building initiative aligns with Uganda’s Digital Transformation Roadmap and Vision 2040, both of which advocate for a digitally proficient, inclusive, and citizen-focused public sector.

By the end of the program, participants completed six ICDL modules selected from the ICDL Core and Professional categories, ensuring they are prepared to lead communication strategies that resonate with a modern, digitally connected public.

ICDL Africa remains committed to supporting the development of a digitally skilled workforce across the continent.
