ECDL is Standard ICT Skills Certification for French Non-Commissioned Officers


More than 5,700 candidates have been registered by the French National School of Active Non-Commissioned Officers (ENSOA). The head of the school’s education office explains, “It was decided to implement ECDL as it is an internationally-recognized certification in the professional world. The ECDL reference shows that the Army uses new technology and has an innovative approach to teaching. It also confirms that the Non-Commissioned Officers are able to use office tools with method and intelligence. The desire to obtain this certification, as well as certifications in foreign languages, boosts student’s motivation.”

95% of Non-Commissioned Officers of the French Army are trained at ENSOA and the use of ECDL at ENSOA is essential to provide the necessary training for use in both military and civilian society, and is fully in line with the school’s motto, “Climbing through the effort.”
