ICDL Africa is delighted to announce that Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) has officially joined our global network of Accredited Test Centres (ATCs). This accreditation marks a major milestone in equipping UMU students with internationally recognized digital qualifications alongside their academic degrees.
The official ATC certificate was formally handed over to the university leadership by Dan Muhenda (Representative of ICDL Uganda) and Rwagasore Bernard (Head of Marketing and Communications at ICDL Africa).
Speaking during the handover ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of Uganda Martyrs University emphasized the central role of digital literacy in higher education today:
“Technology is in everything we do. Making sure that our students are getting world-class international digital skills alongside their degree gives them distinct, work-ready advantages in an increasingly competitive global economy.”
Bridging Higher Education and Modern Industry Needs
By integrating ICDL modules directly into the academic journey, UMU is ensuring that its graduates leave campus equipped not only with foundational academic knowledge but also with practical, verifiable digital proficiencies ranging from essential office productivity tools to advanced data literacy, cybersecurity, and digital marketing skills.
ICDL Africa commends the leadership of Uganda Martyrs University for their forward-thinking vision and commitment to digital transformation in higher education across the region.
