The ICDL Robotics module was officially launched in Hungary at the highly successful Digital Competence Development Conference in October last year. The event organized and held by the Neumann Society in its History of Informatics Exhibition, Szeged, placed a special emphasis on robotics, particularly the launch of the ICDL Robotics module, which is based on the International ICDL Foundation Syllabus. The detailed, approximately 150-page training material for the module was developed and presented to the attendees by József Nemes, Associate Professor at the ELTE Faculty of Informatics. The professional reviewer was Csaba Abán, the president of the Robotics Section of the Neumann Society, who gave an overview lecture on the actual importance of robotics. The program was enriched by the HU-MORE BOT student team, who created artwork with Rick, their artist painter robot.
At the end of January this year, robotics also played a significant role during the Career Day for students at the Mobilis Győr Science Centre. The event provided students with the opportunity to learn about the world of robotics and try out the RMRC (RapidlyManufacturedRobotChallenge) device from the “Kókány Corporation” team. The team has achieved success in the Hungarian RoboCup Junior (MIRK)and RoboCup competitions, and they even reached the international finals. During his lecture, Csaba Abán also presented the industry applications of robotics and the importance of competitions.

In more good news, the ICDL Robotics module exams have started at the ICDL Test Centre of the Nemes Tihamér Technical School of the Békéscsaba Vocational Training Centre. The school has a longstanding commitment to robotics, and this year, they will host the Nemes-Linamar National Robot Programming Competition for the eighth time. The ICDL Robotics module exam provides an opportunity for students to assess their knowledge before the competitions. Currently, the test is conducted manually, but in the future, it will also be available automatically. The launch of the ICDL ROBOTICS module is considered a milestone in Hungarian ICDL history, as it represents a significant step toward the most modern knowledge in the world of digital literacy. We believe it will positively influence the already favourable image of the ICDL.
