Vietnam, 2nd June 2023 – ICDL Asia is delighted to announce the successful conclusion of the ICDL Digital Talent Contest. This international competition aimed to discover and showcase the digital skills and creativity of elementary school students aged 9 to 11. The competition held in a hybrid format, brought together young talents from Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore to demonstrate and compete in various digital skills challenges.
A total of 15 school students participated in the contest, impressing everyone with their exceptional abilities in the field of information technology. Under the Digital Talent competition, the young contestants presented outstanding projects with an Irish theme, highlighting their expertise in managing presentation tools and showcasing their digital literacy skills by taking the ICDL Application Essential test during the hybrid competition. It was truly awe-inspiring to witness such remarkable talent at such a tender age.
Ms. Tina Wu, the General Manager of ICDL Asia, emphasised the importance of digital skills education for young learners during the opening speech. She stated, “This year, we launched our very first Digital Talent competition for primary school students as we believe that young pupils nowadays need to build a solid foundation in digital skills systematically. The earlier we can start learning digital skills with a structured curriculum benchmarked against international standards, the better chance we will have to succeed in the future.”
