ICDL Africa, Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, and National ICT Innovation Hub Join Forces to Empower Refugees with Digital Skills

Kampala, Uganda – In a significant step towards digital inclusion and empowerment, ICDL Africa has partnered with Uganda’s Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, along with the National ICT Innovation Hub, to launch a 15-day digital skills training program for refugees. This initiative will provide 200 displaced individuals with essential digital competencies and internationally recognized ICDL certifications.

The intensive training program is set to begin on May 26, 2025, at Bugema University Kampala Campus, conveniently located on Muganzi Awongererwa Road. This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to equipping vulnerable populations with the skills needed to thrive in today’s increasingly digital world.

“This partnership with the Ministry of ICT and the National ICT Innovation Hub, allows us to extend our reach and provide valuable, globally recognized digital skills to refugees in Uganda, thereby enhancing their opportunities for education and employment.

The Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, along with the National ICT Innovation Hub, has demonstrated strong support for this initiative by fully sponsoring the program. Their commitment, highlights the Ugandan government’s dedication to bridging the digital divide and fostering an inclusive digital society.
