A Resounding Success of Johor Digital Literacy Day 2024: Celebrating AI Innovation and Digital Upskilling 


Johor Bahru, May 25, 2024 – The Johor Digital Literacy Day 2024, held at Sunway College Johor Bahru, marked a significant milestone in the digital transformation landscape of Johor and beyond. Organised by our ICDL Accredited Test Centre, DEW Technology and supported by the Lembaga Sumber Bakat Industri Malaysia (Malaysia Industrial Talent Board) and ICDL Asia, this event successfully drew tremendous support from industry professionals and tech enthusiasts to highlight the growing importance of digital upskilling in the region. 

Empowerment via Digital Upskilling 

The event focused on raising awareness about the critical need for digital upskilling, particularly in AI proficiency. Keynote speeches and sharing sessions from industry experts covered topics such as “Navigating the AI Landscape in Modern Classrooms” and “The Amazing World of Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI.” Forums like “Overcoming Barriers to Digital Upskilling in the Age of Industry 4.0 and AI” and hands-on workshops using generative AI tools provided valuable insights and practical knowledge to the attendees. 

Digital Skills Talent Fair 

The Digital Skills Talent Fair was another highlight, offering participants the opportunity to explore digital careers and connect with potential employers. The importance of obtaining the internationally-recognised ICDL certification was emphasised, highlighting its role and relevance in expanding career prospects and job opportunities. During the event, attendees were also given the chance to assess their proficiency in digital skills through ICDL Digital Skills Check. 

Tech Innovators Challenge: AI Edition 

Another standout feature of the event was the Tech Innovators Challenge: AI Edition. Participants from Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore were given the platform to showcase their expertise in the AI realm. During this competition, they completed the ICDL Application Essentials and Artificial Intelligence modules as part of their participation in the ICDL Asia Digital Challenge 2024, thus demonstrating their digital prowess.
