When Essien Sezerano joined the Refugee Digital Skilling Project by Uganda’s Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, he never imagined the doors it would open.
Through the ICDL program, Essien mastered essential modules such as Documents, Spreadsheets, E-Commerce, and Cyber Security. He then applied these skills to design professional project proposals with Logical Frameworks, helping organizations in refugee settlements ENENGFO in Nakivale and Raise Hope in Bidibidi, successfully secure funding.
“Thanks to ICDL, I improved my employability and created real opportunities for organizations in my community,” Essien shares.
The Refugee Digital Skilling Project is proof that when we invest in digital literacy, we don’t just change individuals, we strengthen entire communities.
