ICDL-Port2: Presentation at the Specialist Conference “Mein Bildungsraum”

DLGI presented the results of the research project ICDL-Port2 at the specialist conference Mein Bildungsraum, held at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The project supports the integration of ICDL into the Digital Education Infrastructure and contributes to the advancement of digital skills. The Digital Education Infrastructure, a project funded by the BMBF, plays a key role in shaping a sustainable and innovative digital learning environment across Germany.

As the official certification body for ICDL in Germany, DLGI sets standards in digital qualification. With 2.5 million graduates and a strong presence in schools, ICDL has long been an established certification. By linking to “Mein Bildungsraum”, learners can seamlessly incorporate their certificates into their educational records – a significant advantage when starting their careers.

Smarter Learning with AI and Interactive Modules

The ICDL-Port2 learning modules have been fundamentally modernised with increased interactivity, adaptive learning processes, and AI-supported assistance enabling flexible and personalised learning. Engaging short films and AI avatars present complex content in an accessible way, while community feedback and beta testing ensure continuous improvement.

The use of artificial intelligence in particular opens up new possibilities: individually tailored learning paths make digital education more efficient and targeted. The new modules are already available on the platforms MUNDO and VIDIS – or are set for release soon.

MUNDO and VIDIS: Strengthening the Digital Education Landscape

The MUNDO educational media library supports learners, teachers, and guardians in their daily work. It is a freely accessible media portal offering more than 60,000 open-access, legally and quality-checked teaching materials.

Meanwhile, VIDIS (Vermittlungsdienst für das digitale Identitätsmanagement in Schulen – Mediation Service for Digital Identity Management in Schools) serves as the central operational interface between identity providers (IdPs) and service providers (SPs). This ensures secure and seamless access to digital learning resources.

Both MUNDO and VIDIS are funded by the DigitalPakt Schule, an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) aimed at strengthening Germany’s digital education infrastructure.

Presentation at the Mein Bildungsraum Conference

After three years of intensive development, DLGI presented the project results of ICDL-Port2. In collaboration with leading educational initiatives and with the support of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), Mein Bildungsraum has been advanced as an innovative platform for the future of education.

With 43 other research projects, this initiative – funded by the BMBF and the EU – makes a significant contribution to Germany’s digital education infrastructure and provides crucial impulses for the future of learning.
