ICDL Vietnam expands strategic partnership by signing MoU with Vietnam National Economics University

NEU MOU Signing

On 5th February 2018, a signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ICDL Vietnam and Vietnam National Economics University (NEU) was taken place at the A2 auditorium of NEU. The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat - principal of NEU and Ms. Dao Mai Anh – Chief Executive Officer of ICDL Vietnam, in the presence of Ms. Cáit Moran– Ambassador of Ireland to Vietnam. 

The agreement set out the basis collaboration between ICDL Foundation and NEU in enhancing proficient use of Vietnamese students in Information and Communication Technology, in which NEU commits to support ICDL programmes in their teaching system.

Addressing at the ceremony, Ms. Cáit Moran commented “ICDL is the world's leading computer skills certification. With over 20 years of experience in the delivery of quality certification programmes worldwide, I believe ICDL will play an important role in the development and deployment of an international standardised IT scheme towards which the government is heading.

Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat also expressed his expectations upon this collaboration “In the digital era, NEU understands the requirements of training, standardization and improvement of computer skills of students in particular and Vietnam workforce in general are very necessary. I hope this cooperation will improve the quality of IT education of NEU students, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of students and raising the quality of labour force of Vietnam.”

Founded in 1956, NEU is one of the leading universities in Economics, Public Management and Business Administration in Vietnam. The university has 1236 faculty staff and 45,000 students annually at Bachelor, Master and Ph. D levels. Many alumni of NEU have a strong track record of success and hold important positions both in the Vietnamese government and public services, including, a Minister, a Deputy Prime Minister, the Director of General Statistics Office and CEO’s of numerous multinationals and major domestic corporation.
