The ICDL programme was officially launched in Italy on 22 October at an event in Naples. More than 200 people attended, including representatives of many ICDL test centres.
The focus of the event was digital literacy, a fundamental issue around the world. Presentations from Jakub Christoph of ICDL Europe and Luis Fernandez of CEPIS, the Council of European Professional Informatics Societies, provided an international point of view. From AICA, the ICDL National Operator in Italy, Paolo Schgor and Carlo Tiberti presented new developments of the ICDL programme in the country. Other presenters also shared case studies and best practices from schools, private training centres, public institutions and universities. The event was closed with an address by AICA President, Professor Giovanni Adorni looking to the future.
