50 new schools to benefit from the 2023 CEDF-DELL “Upskilling Future Workforce For The Digital Economy” project for third consecutive year In China

The National Centre of Educational Technology China (NCET) has recently announced and selected 50 new vocational schools from Hebei province, Fujian province, Guizhou province and Xinjiang province to kickstart the third phase of the project this year after witnessing the success of the “Upskilling Future Workforce for the Digital Economy” Project in the year 2021 and 2022 respectively.

Fully funded by Dell Technologies, managed by China Education Development Foundation (CEDF) and to be implemented by National Center for Educational Technology (NCET) and ICDL China, the project is expected to upskill additional 100 teachers and 2250 students in China by the end of 2023. The selected vocational school’s teachers and students who have completed the ICDL training and certification will be presented with ICDL certification in this project.

The project aims to uplift the digital skills of vocational school students and the existing workforce in China, matching the ever-growing need of the workplace. To introduce the international standard to China, ICDL uses a modular design curriculum, a practical hands-on approach, robust assessment and certification.

ICDL is the internationally recognised digital skills standard, adopted by more than 100 countries’ government agencies, corporates, and academic institutes. Since 2019, ICDL has been officially recognised by NCET, a subsidiary of the Chinese Ministry of Education.

At ICDL Asia, we value the ongoing partnership with NCET, CEDF and Dell Technologies as we collaborate to upskill and uplift the digital competencies of more vocational students and teachers in China.
